Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! No commitment is too large or too small– get involved as your interests and schedules permit. Here is a quick overview of our initiatives to give you a sense of where you might want to invest your time.

Friends Book Donation Center:  DO YOU LOVE BOOKS AND DISCOVERING TREASURES? Then you might enjoy volunteering at our Friends Book Donation Center, located in the Milne Public Library. Volunteers sort through, categorize and organize donations from the community year round. These donations stock our store (Chapter Two Books) as well as our periodic special sales and auctions.

Chapter Two Books:  WOULD YOU ENJOY INTERACTING WITH OUR CUSTOMERS AND REPRESENTING THE FRIENDS? We’re looking for help at the Chapter Two Book store on Spring Street, right in the heart of Williamstown. It is completely run and staffed by volunteers, all of whom strive to support each other and to present a warm and welcoming presence to customers.

Special Events:  ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING PART OF A SMALLER GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO ARE WORKING ON SHORTER-TERM PROJECTS? If so, you might enjoy working on a special event, such as a “pop-up” library book sale, membership event, auction, or an in-store special event.

Behind the Scenes:  THERE IS MUCH TO DO TO SUPPORT THE ABOVE PROGRAMS.  We are always looking for volunteers with special talents – financial, technical, business, creative, logistical. The Friends are very busy – come be a part of our future!

To get things started, please complete the survey below so that we can identify how your talents and interests match up with our needs. Once you have submitted your answers, you can expect a response from the Friends within a few weeks. We are looking forward to working with you!

We encourage all of our volunteers to join the Friends. Annual dues help us support non-operational library needs that are not covered by town, state, or Trustee funding. Membership is easy. Just fill out the online form, choose an annual dues level, and become a Friend!

Please visit the website of the Friends to complete the process. Thank you in advance for your support.
